The nominees for next year’s Grammy awards were announced this morning in Los Angeles. Foo Fighters, Rihanna, Mumford and Sons and Katy Perry are amongst the chosen ones.
Kanye West heads the nominations with seven, including the album ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’, while Adele received six. Her song ‘Rolling in the Deep’ is up for best song, while her album ‘21’ for best album.
The rapper has already received fourteen Grammys previously and is competing against Adele with the song ‘All of the Lights’.
For best single of the year, there is Bon Iver’s ‘Holocene’, ‘The Cave’ from Mumford and Sons, Bruno Mars with ‘Grenade’ and finally Katy Perry’s ‘Firework’.
The 2012 edition has its ceremony scheduled for February 12 and features 78 categories, a great contrast to last year which featured 109 categories. This already caused controversy because it put aside a long list of Latin artists.
